Kristin Hersh founded the rock band Throwing Muses at age 14 and has released more than 20 albums with them, as a solo artist, and with her other band, 50 Foot Wave. Her 2010 memoir, Rat Girl, was applauded by the New York Times that noted, “Hersh’s memories make Rat Girl an uncommonly touching punk memoir.” This year, Rolling Stone Magazine chose Rat Girl as one of the top ten best rock memoirs of all time. For more than two decades, Hersh has built a musical oeuvre that brings the sublime to bear on a dreamlike world of beauty and ugliness. Always an innovator, her powerful voice, formidable guitar talents, fierce intelligence, and wry humor make Kristin Hersh an American treasure whom we are honored to host for this one performance in Bellows Falls.
