On November 15th, at 5pm, Popolo celebrates the evolution of beverages with a night dedicated to martinis. We’re not talking about hollow pretension and uppity smugness since we find those things repugnant. We’re talking about the sort of clarification of food and drink that brings us closer to holiness. It’s not something you can do every day, of course. This is a sort of a high holy day for Epicureans. First, we’ll be documenting the progress of the martini and embracing its future. There will be orthodox gin martinis and rogue vodka martinis. Things that James Bond might shake in a fit of pique or Roger Sterling might gulp in the pit of chic.

You see, the martini is more than a drink, it’s a weathervane of culture and has for some time told us which way the wind was blowing. We celebrate the discipline and savoir faire cocktail culture demands. Please join us on Friday, November 15th, at 6:00pm, for a refined party with cocktail food that might substitute for dinner if you want it to.

Oysters On the Half Shell, Cherrystones, Smoked Salmon, Smoked Mussels, Shrimp Cocktail, Cornichons, Olives, Caviar On Toast, Carpaccio, Cheeses, Prosciutto Wrapped Melon, Crab Canapes, Spiced Filberts, Brazil Nuts & Pecans, Mini Quiche Lorraine, Tartes d’Onion, House-made Parmesan Crackers, Bacon-Wrapped Dates, Tuna Tartar on House-Made Rice Crackers.

There is no dress code but we won’t discourage a little primping if it feels good. Rarely these days do you have reason to make yourself as clean and refined as a dry martini. Put on the pearls and your little black cocktail dress, bust out the dinner jacket or your blue blazer and pocket square.

Admission is $30 and best paid in advance by clicking the button below. Its a Friday after-work spectacular and you can come with your co-workers or your co-conspirators. Find a group and bring them.
