Dirty Dancing Dinner & Movie
Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM

Once again we’ve chosen a less than high-brow movie which will no doubt be served with some delicious but less than high brow cuisine.

Dirty Dancing was released in 1987 to a surprise box office success. The film critics and the public did a pas de duex that was reminiscent of lead characters Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey’s routine and the audience led. Yup,it’s another kitchy Cinderella story and you’ll feel dirty good after watching, we’re told. The film’s rated PG-13 but probably you should leave the kids at home and make a group reservation.

The 1987 classic, Dirty Dancing, stars the late Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray, Golden Globe nominee for her role as Baby. The coming of age drama, set in a 1960s resort, finds Baby learning more than her parents would like about adult life as she learns to dance and falls head over heels for Swayze’s character, dance instructor Johnny Castle. If you didn’t have a job working at a resort you’ll have your eyes opened to what goes on behind the scenes and you’ll gain some understanding of what happens at Popolo after the guests have gone.

Dirty Dancing continues our dinner-and-a-movie concept and while the menu is still secret, chef John-Michael let’s on that it will reflect the dining experience at a country club of the era. Tickets are $22 which includes dinner and the movie but neither tax nor tip. You can make reservations online by pointing your browser to www.popolomeanspeople.com or by calling the restaurant at 802-460-7676. The film starts at 7pm and is about 110 minutes long. If you purchase your tickets online we still recommend you call the restaurant to confirm the time of your reservation, anytime between 6:15 and 6:45.
