First and foremost, we want this to be fun for all concerned and we hope you enter this contest in the spirit in which it’s held: namely, the spirit of community.

You’ll need to sign a document giving WOOL permission to air your performance, both live and recorded.

The competition will be held in front of a live audience, and broadcast live on the air at 100.1FM and on the internet at www.wool.fm. It may be rebroadcast in whole or part.

The host will determine the running order of the contestants. Contestants not present for their scheduled slot will be disqualified.

Songs will be selected from a supplied song list on the night of competition unless contestants bring their own music; contestants supplying their own music need to submit songs in CDG format on the night of competition before the competition gets started. Songs must be shorter than 5 minutes.

While on the air, participants may not use language inappropriate for broadcast including expletives, vulgarity, discriminatory language, etc., even if it’s in the lyrics of a song. The organizers may, at their discretion, interrupt or discontinue any performance deemed inappropriate for broadcast; there will be no recourse.

Judging is subjective and based on timing, pitch, and performance. (Performance is the unique quality brought to the song by the contestant. Ham it up!) Ties will be broken by the volume of applause from the audience when called for by the host.

If a finalist isn’t present on March 23, they’ll be disqualified and the host will fill the slot with a previous contestant or with a person of his choice.

Participants release WOOL and Popolo and their parent companies from any claims arising from participation in this contest. Participants are responsible for any and all taxes on winnings. Participants under 18 years of age must have permission of a parent or legal guardian to participate in this contest, and the parent or legal guardian must be present to sign the release document.
