Born into a family of musicians, Samirah Evans found her groove dancing and singing on the streets of New Orleans when she was only seven years old.Her father provided backup and she grew into a formidable presence on the NOLA scene, sharing stages with countless greats.

After Hurricane Katrina, Ms. Evans moved to her husband’s hometown of Brattleboro and quickly found an audience in the notable venues of the region including the Vermont Jazz Center and the Greenfield’s Arts Block, all while continuing to tour internationally.

This girl is tough as nails. Burned out of her Brattleboro home last year, she’s fought her way through adversity again. She’s got the sweet taste of salvation on her lips and at her last Windham Ballroom performance she spoonfed its power to the room in a way that went from intimate to Shock and Awe in just a few measures. If you missed it last time, don’t make the same mistake again.

Doors are at 7:30pm. The show is at 8:00pm.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 for the best seats in the house. On the day of show the GA tickets got to $22.00.
