Ain’t there just something grand about sitting with a bunch of strangers and sharing the experience of “Oooooh” and “Ahhhhh as each rocket explodes with a boom and a shower of color and wonder? Now that the world is broken into shards it’s difficult to count on liking the same thing as a bunch of strangers. Fireworks are, as far as we can tell, largely dependable in bridging the gulf of taste between us all.

On Saturday, August 3rd, we’re opening the Popolo Deck for dinner and drinks under the exploding sky. We’re told it’s going to be an especially big year for fireworks in Bellows Falls and whether you’re returning home to the burg of your birth or venturing across the river from distant and exotic Walpole, we offer a haven against the mob where you can find dinner and drinks and the perfect seat to take it all in.

You can still make reservations but we can’t get you a parking pass since we were on a deadline with our town officials.

If you phone the restaurant before close of business Saturday night we can still get you a pass by email. Of course you can still make a reservation and park where you’re directed. We’d love to see you.
