The Front of House Manager is the principal public face of our restaurant and helps us protect and develop the best relations with our customers. Equally important is the nurturing of teamwork not only among the Front of House staff but between that staff and our kitchen wunderkinds. This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 45 hours each week and including both day and night shifts. We’re look for people with experience in restaurant management and a demonstrable knowledge of food, wine, and fine dining. We take this stuff seriously. Organizational skills are required to schedule a service staff of fourteen and to ensure the smooth flow of our dining room through thoughtfully arranged reservations and sophisticated dining room management. Frequent special events – including functions, concerts, and movies – happen at our restaurant and bring both excitement and stress to the daily business. Our Front of House Manager is responsible for the careful integration of these events into the more regular life of the restaurant. Sometimes, to ensure the easy flow of things, the Front of House Manager needs to roll up his or her sleeves and take a table’s order or help the bussers prepare for a new arrival.
The Front of House Manager shares nightly cash-out tasks with our bartenders, settles nightly with our service staff, oversees reservations, and is responsible for the general quality of the dining room. Careful reporting of workers’ hours by the Front of House Manager keeps the wages flowing to our family of servers and bussers. Oh. And there’s more…
A knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Facebook, as well as POS systems (we use Aloha) is required.
Salary is commensurate with experience and merit.
